They might speak with a slight accent.

Wong Fu’s “Yappie” starring Philip Wang and Janine Oda, is a comedy series that examines Asian identity and relationships. It takes ideas that are familiar and turns them around to make you think twice.
The first season explores topics like the model minority myth, pan-Asian unity and interracial dating. You don’t have to be Asian to appreciate this comedy. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in diversity and representation in media.
Normal FOB Asian Girl
Getting called “FOB” (“fresh off the boat”) was once a putdown for Asians who hadn’t fully assimilated into American culture. But now it’s a badge of honor in some blogs. They celebrate FOB culture, notably parental quirks like excessive frugality and ESL malapropisms. FOBs also smoke lots of cigarettes. They know it helps them blend in.
But they don’t get it that white guys just don’t care.
Angry Asian Girl
AAG’s Katy Bartel and Dahn Bi Lee-Hong want their collective to empower APIA people through events that bring together community members. Using their radical identities as part of their brand, they aim to challenge how people perceive them.
Their work includes the Angry Asian Girl webcomic that follows Kim, a sixth-grade Korean American who unleashes her rage against gender and racial stereotypes. The cartoon has already inspired an animated series and several movies.
Asian Baby Girl
The Asian Baby Girl (ABG) aesthetic is a subculture that contradicts model minority stereotypes. This style originated with Chinese American female gangs in the 1990s and can be found among women from other East Asian ethnicities. An ABG wears brightly dyed hair, a full face of makeup, false eyelashes and bodycon clothing. She drinks bubble tea with abandon and frequents raves.
Although this lifestyle can appear shallow and elitist, an ABG is unapologetic about her look and confident in who she is.
Hipster Asian Girl
L felt like she was doing everything right. She was studying gender and creating safe spaces online for other Asian women to discuss racism and misogyny.
But every time she’d post in a subreddit, some guy would pipe in to tell her that she was being racist by dating white guys. The toxicity was paralyzing. He seemed to want to break her.
