You have those panties in the back of your drawer that haven’t been thrown out yet. The elastic has stretched, and they’re a little scruffy, but you can’t bring yourself to get rid of them.

The Panties Dropping Craze
The Panties Dropping Craze

They’re the same ones that you’ve been wearing for a decade now, so you can’t really justify throwing them out. However, you should replace them regularly.

1. They’re a fashion statement

The panty-dropping craze is no new thing, but it’s definitely on the rise. Fashion houses like Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta showed bare briefs down the runway during spring 2023 collection shows, while French designers Coperni sent silky underwear with matching cropped blazers down the fashion calendar. And if the latest viral image of actress Megan Fox in a denim-laden bra and panties grocery shopping in Hollywood is any indication, it’s likely that the trend won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

2. They’re a fetish

It’s a fetish for some people to eroticize panties, stockings and other women’s underwear. They might get sexual excitement from the look or feel of panties, nylons, or stockings in porn videos, and they may be attracted to the smell that women produce when they’re drenched in female ejaculate or male semen. Or they might get excited when they watch someone put on or take off their panties. Some people are so obsessed with used panties that they even sell them for money online and set up worn panty vending machines in places like Japan. It’s a surprisingly lucrative business, and it’s not just a “side hustle” for Piper in Orange is the New Black anymore.
